Private equity investments in prop-tech companies increased by 35% to $741 million in 2021. According to a report titled 'PropTech India Monitor 2022' by digital real estate firm Housing.com, the average deal size of PE investments in proptech reached an all-time high of $25 million in 2021 due to increased investor confidence.
According to the research, the inflow of money into proptech enterprises was $551 million in 2002, with the industry receiving total private funding worth $3.2 billion between 2009 and 2021. Furthermore, private equity investments in proptech enterprises have grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 55% since 2010.
69 percent of the total $741 million investment in 2021 went to tech enterprises handling sales and marketing and providing construction technology. Construction technology received 36% of overall PE investments last year, while proptech enterprises specializing in sales and marketing received 33% of total PE investments.
These industries were followed by proptech enterprises in co-working and co-living (13%), shared economy (14%), interior design services (11%), furniture rentals (3%), and property management (2%), and virtual reality (1%). (1 percent).
