German union calls for strikes at seven Amazon sites

In a long-running salary issue, the German labor group Verdi called for employees at seven separate Amazon stores to strike on Sunday.

The strikes will begin on Monday at some distribution centers and will extend through Tuesday, according to a spokeswoman. Amazon claims to offer outstanding compensation, benefits, and career prospects in a statement.

Amazon claims to offer outstanding compensation, benefits, and career prospects in a statement.

"No one here makes less than 12 euros ($13.87) per hour gross, plus bonuses," the business claimed.

Verdi has urged that Amazon raise compensation in line with the union's agreements with Germany's broader retail and mail-order industries, without revealing specific figures.
