Amazon has reached an agreement with employees who were fired for criticizing working conditions.

Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) announced a settlement on Wednesday with two former employees who said they were fired last year for criticizing the e-commerce giant's warehouse working conditions.

According to their allegation filed in October, Amazon had fired Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa, who had accused the business of applying regulations in a discriminatory manner and adopting procedures that "chill and constrain" employees from expressing their rights. The National Labor Relations Board said in April that Amazon fired them improperly after they lobbied for better working conditions during the pandemic.

The corporation had achieved a non-board settlement with the former employees, according to the US agency. A non-board settlement is a private agreement between parties in which terms are not publicized.

However, before the charges can be dropped, the NLRB regional director must review and accept the settlement deal.

"We have reached a mutual agreement that resolves the legal issues in this case and welcome the resolution of this matter," an Amazon spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
